Tracks you will most definitely play at HER DAMIT 2018?
Although I’m always trying to refresh my set and there is still some time until the festival, I can almost assume that these ones will sound roughly during my set at HER DAMIT this year:
1. Cheap records is a 90's label from Vienna, their music is a hybrid between Techno and the acid slope of Trance. This one came out at the end of last year and I’ve been playing it almost in every set since I got the record. I love to play it at the beginning, it sets up a murky atmosphere but somehow sexy and has a very cinematic vibe, for me it's saying: 'Ok I’m here, be prepared...'
2. I have chosen this one but any other track by Dax would work. I’m a huge fan of his stuff and although I try not to play more than one or two per set, I consider his tunes the perfect big room/festival/open air music, driving, powerful and really original in their composition. This one is maybe his hardest. One of the best producers out there.
3. Not much to say about this one, have been playing it all over, maybe the best track I’ve ever made. I guess it has so much inside, it's full of power and things to say, dedicated to someone very special and to a moment in my life. It can touch anybody out there with similar experiences, however, it is always achieving its purpose.
What are you up to if you are not standing behind the decks?
I feel really attracted to 80's fashion, vintage synthesizers, pop subcultures, science and flashy covered records. So, looking, reading, searching or getting info about any of those is one of my main hobbies. I go to dance to other DJs often, hang out with my people, make music... In any case, I’m asking myself all the time which record would be the perfect soundtrack for this moment.
Tracks you never dared to play out, but you really want to?
I actually got this record recently in a 3x12” compilation with all killers called Dys Functional Electronic Music on Repitch Recordings and didn’t have the chance to play it yet, but I’m sure the moment will come soon. On their labels, Ascion & D.Carbone have been delivering probably the most advanced and “giving-zero-fucks" music in the Techno scene in the last years. Dritte is as harsh and brutal as melancholic and epic. Extraordinary DJ weapon. Genius.
I wish I could find the moment for this one. I don’t know what could happen but finding the right time and place was impossible until now. Modern classical master piece on Techno speed (just saying). I get goosebumps every single time I listen to it.
